Build a list from actual statements rather than memory. For each recurring purchase, record the purpose, owner, renewal timing and the work that would be affected if it stopped. Ask the responsible employee whether the service is still used and whether another tool already covers the same need.
Do not cancel a system just because its name is unfamiliar. It may support backups, a customer form or an integration that staff rarely see. Confirm dependencies and export necessary business records before making a change. The review should produce a decision: retain with a named owner, reduce the scope, investigate or end at an appropriate time. Repeating this exercise periodically helps the business keep useful tools while preventing forgotten subscriptions from becoming a permanent part of its operating cost.
