The moment between the kitchen and the customer is an easy place to lose the benefit of careful preparation. Similar bags, missing condiments and unclear collection instructions can create repeat work for staff and disappointment for diners.

Choose one person to confirm the order reference, item count and any clearly recorded preparation instructions before the bag leaves the pickup area. Keep this check brief enough to survive a rush. A handwritten mark on an agreed checklist can be more dependable than a screen nobody has time to revisit.

Track the reason for each remake or return for a week. Separate preparation errors from packing errors and delivery handoff problems. Each needs a different response. Avoid announcing faster pickup times until the team has measured actual readiness during a busy service. Customers benefit from a dependable estimate and a complete order. An owner benefits from knowing exactly where the handoff failed, instead of treating every complaint as evidence that the whole restaurant needs a new system.
